Louis Armstrong House Museum
Armstrong Now, the Louis Armstrong House Museum’s flagship residency, invites artists to engage deeply with the archives — journals, recordings, scrapbooks, and personal artifacts — and respond through new work. This year’s focus is 'Armstrong in Ghana', a reflection on Armstrong’s 1956 visit to the Gold Coast. The residency offers a 10-day period for research and creation, culminating in a public performance in Fall 2026.
$10,000 stipend and a 10-day residency.
Practice must bridge past and present. Interdisciplinary forms are welcome.
