Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital
Art Ability is dedicated to creating community awareness of cognitive and physical disabilities, encouraging artists to find fulfillment through art. The exhibit features painting, drawing, printmaking, watercolor, sculpture, jewelry, mixed media, and photography. Artists earn 80% commission on sales. All work must be original, created within the last five years, and created after the onset of the artist's disability. Nudes and dark subject matter are not accepted.
Accepted works will be exhibited at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital with prizes awarded in various categories totaling over $8,000, with individual prizes up to $1,000 per piece. Artists retain 80% of sales.
Artists must have a physical, cognitive, visual, or hearing disability. Work must be original, created within the last five years, and created after the onset of the disability. All wall art must be properly wired. No glass allowed; Plexiglas only.
Submit work through the Artwork Archive website (artworkarchive.com). Applicants must create a free profile, upload up to 6 images, and provide an artist statement (max 125 words). For those without computer access, contact artability@mlhs.org or call 484.596.5607 for a mail-in form.
