About the Open Call
The Chicago Artists Coalition's 2026 Residencies aim to foster sustainable artistic practices by building relationships within the arts sector—among artists, curators, mentors, and collectors. Participants will develop crucial business and professional skills often overlooked in art education. Two types of residencies are offered: Curatorial Residency and Artist Residency. The program emphasizes community building, networking, and career development within a heavily gatekept industry.

Applicants must prepare 10 examples of work, an artist/curatorial statement (under 100 words), an impact statement addressing 'why residency now?' (under 500 words), and a CV/Resume.
