About the Open Call

WHITE WAVE will be presenting our 10th Annual SoloDuo Dance Festival (February 12th & 13th, 2026) with 30 participating choreographers/companies in 3 different programs. As in past years, we anticipate performing artists will be hail from Europe, Canada, East Asia, Metro NY, and across the US. In 2025, we partnered with ChangMu International Dance Festival in Seoul, Korea and launched SoloDuo Dance Festival New York | Seoul. From our 2026 SoloDuo Dance Festival New York | Seoul, we will be selecting two companies and will be invited to perform in 2026 in Seoul. To celebrate the distinct art of the solo and duet, while creating additional opportunities to display the latest work of both emerging and mid-career choreographers, WHITE WAVE's 2026 SoloDuo Dance Festival will be held at Dixon Place, a setting nestled in the heart of the Downtown scene. The SoloDuo Dance Festival's foremost priority is to inspire performing artists of all stripes and callings to stretch the limits of their creativity and take it to new heights, and to provide vivid experiences for audiences, with the goal of finding and nurturing promising young talent.

What is Offered

Perform at the 10th Annual SoloDuo Dance Festival in New York on February 12th & 13th, 2026, at Dixon Place. Two selected companies will also be invited to perform in Seoul, South Korea, in 2026 at the ChangMu International Dance Festival.

Requirements

Solos must not exceed 6 mins, and duets must not exceed 8 mins. Each choreographer/company may submit up to two applications. A recent performance-quality video of the proposed work (up to 5 minutes for viewing by selection panel) is required.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit an online application form with video and pay a non-refundable application fee. Each choreographer/company may submit up to two applications, each requiring a separate form, video, and fee. Solos must not exceed 6 mins, duets must not exceed 8 mins. Applicants should submit a recent performance-quality video of the proposed work. Payment must be made when submitting the application.
