Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts sponsors the VMFA Aaron Siskind Award for excellence in contemporary photography, celebrating Aaron Siskind's legacy. The award is intended for early- to mid-career as well as established photographers who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to their practice but have not yet received significant critical recognition. Award funds are meant to enable photographers to complete a meaningful body of work, such as a series, exhibition, or monograph.
Two artists will each receive an unrestricted prize of $25,000.
Open to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents (must hold a valid U.S. Permanent Resident Card) at least 18 years of age, for whom photography is a primary vocation.
Submit via the Picter portal by providing profile information, a CV, an artist statement (500 words or less), and a portfolio of 10 to 15 images. Book maquettes are accepted as part of the portfolio. AI use must be disclosed.
