About the Open Call

Beam Center invites creative individuals—including artists, engineers, architects, builders, and technologists—to submit proposals for a unique and spectacular large-scale project to be built during a four-week summer camp session. The project should be ambitious, technically challenging, and encourage youth collaboration. The selected proposer will receive a $5,000 award and a $15,000 fabrication budget. The proposer must collaborate with the team, attend bi-weekly development meetings starting 6 months before project completion, and participate in a portion of the camp session.

Requirements

The proposal must demonstrate a clear vision, be ambitious enough to challenge 100 campers and 20 staff for 50 hours, and utilize Beam's specific facilities. Selected proposers must have a general understanding of construction processes and be available for mandatory bi-weekly meetings.
