About the Open Call

Centrum's residency programs aim to provide artists, writers, and creatives in all disciplines permission to relax, focus, and reinvent their practice. The application covers three specific programs: Self-Directed, Emerging Artist (restricted to PNW-based artists), and In the Making. The panel seeks a diversity of practices, relevant to contemporary issues, and work that expands thinking in its field.

What is Offered

Provides 6 spots for Emerging Artists, 3-5 spots for In The Making, and 55-60 spots for Self-Directed Residencies.

Requirements

Applicants must be artists, writers, or creatives. The Emerging Artist Residency is restricted to Pacific Northwest-based artists (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and British Columbia).

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted via the Submittable platform. Applicants must provide work samples, a link to an online portfolio, demographic information, a description of workspace needs, a short statement on what a residency would mean to the applicant, and an indication of the preferred residency program(s).
