The Farm Margaret River
The Artist in Residence program at The Farm Margaret River provides a unique opportunity for visual artists to undertake focused, site-responsive artworks. The residency is awarded to artists who demonstrate a strong creative practice that enhances engagement and awareness of the local area. The program supports the development of ambitious work responding to environmental, ecological, agricultural, and cultural contexts. The 2027 residency will take place for a block of 8-10 weeks between February 1st and November 30th, 2027.
$15,000 artist fee to support living and project costs, accommodation, studio facilities, coverage of travel costs, professional documentation, research support, mentoring, and media exposure.
Open to individual visual artists over 18 years of age (not collectives). Applicants must demonstrate a strong and sustained professional practice, be able to work independently, and must hold public liability insurance of at least one million dollars. Work must be site-responsive.
Applicants must complete the online application form via Google Forms, answer four specific practice-based questions, and upload a current CV along with a single PDF (max 25MB) of supporting visual documentation of previous work.
