2027 Open Call for Curators

About the Open Call

The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) invites independent curators, artists, and arts professionals to submit exhibition proposals for the Longwood Arts Project. We welcome bold, innovative, and thoughtfully conceived exhibitions that engage with personal, social, cultural, political, historical, or experimental subjects. Selected curators will receive a $2,500 honorarium and will coordinate exhibitions featuring 4-8 artists, with a majority of artists based in the Bronx.

What is Offered

Selected curators receive a $2,500 honorarium, and participating artists receive $300 each. BCA provides logistical support and covers artwork insurance and professional art handling.

Requirements

Applicants must be New York City residents. Group exhibitions should feature 4-8 artists, the majority of whom must be based in the Bronx. Curators may not include their own work.

How to Apply

Submit proposals through the Submittable platform including a curatorial statement, exhibition goals, technical requirements, a list of artists with image checklist, and a curatorial CV.
