2027 Prague Creative Residency for Foreign Writers and Translators

About the Open Call

Prague City of Literature offers an opportunity for writers and translators to live and work in the Prague city centre. The program includes eight two-month residencies throughout 2027. Selection criteria include English language knowledge, prior publication or translation experience, and a willingness to participate in local literary life. Residents must produce a text inspired by their stay within two months of its completion.

What is Offered

Accommodation and travel expenses are covered, plus a scholarship of CZK 15,000 (approx. €600) per month.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of English; at least one published literary work, two broadcast/published radio dramas, one carried out/published theatre play, or at least one published translation of a Czech author. Authors who have previously received this scholarship are ineligible.
