26th National Juried Art Show

About the Open Call

The New Orleans Art Association (NOAA) continues its commitment to produce an annual juried National Art Show for artists in the United States. The exhibit will be at The Building Art Gallery in October and November 2025. Cash awards will be presented for outstanding examples of the accepted artists’ work. You are cordially invited to participate and submit artwork entries and, if accepted, you should look forward to an exciting and pleasurable event here in New Orleans. The Art Association of New Orleans dates back to 1887 and is one of the oldest art organizations in New Orleans. The exhibition runs from October 9 – November 1, 2025, with an Artists’ Reception and Awards on October 4, 2025. All accepted artwork must be offered for sale, with a 30% commission retained by The Building. One catalog will be provided to each entrant.

What is Offered

Cash awards (1st Place: $2,500, 2nd Place: $1,250, 3rd Place: $750, plus Honorable Mentions and additional merit prizes). Accepted artists will have their work exhibited, be included in a show catalog, and have the opportunity to sell their artwork.

Requirements

Artists must be 18 years of age or older. A maximum of five (5) original, two-dimensional artworks completed after January 1, 2022, may be submitted per artist. Artwork must not have been displayed in any previous NOAA national show. Acceptable media include paintings (oil, acrylic, water media, pastel, encaustic, egg tempera) and drawings (Conte-crayon, colored pencil, graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, scratchboard). Reproductions, prints, photography, videos, crafts, jewelry, three-dimensional works, textiles, fiber art, collages, montages, computer-generated elements, and full-frontal nudes are not accepted. Artwork must be dry, ready to hang with wire and D-rings or screw eyes, and gallery-wrapped pieces must have finished/painted edges. Artwork size must be between 8 inches (length or width) and 60 inches in width and 80 inches in length (including frame), with a maximum weight of 35 pounds. All reference photos must have been taken by the artist. Accepted artwork must remain for the show's duration and be offered for sale (NFS is not allowed). Artists are responsible for shipping/handling costs and insurance.
