About the Open Call

Accent Dance NYC invites emerging and early-career choreographers to apply for their annual commissioning program. The selected artist will create a 10-15 minute work over 4-8 weeks to be performed by the company. The program is open to various dance styles including contemporary, ballet, hip hop, tap, jazz, and traditional cultural forms. The resulting work will be featured in arts education programming, community events, galas, and concert performances.

What is Offered

Compensation of $3,000 to $5,000 (depending on scope), rehearsal space, dancer fees, audition support, a premiere of the work, and marketing support.

Requirements

Applicants must be based in the NYC-metro area, have 2-5 years of professional choreographic experience, and not be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program.
