AI Performance Playground: AI & Music Hacklab

About the Open Call
The AI Performance Playground returns to Sónar+D as part of the AI & Music powered by S+T+ARTS programme. This hacklab brings together 12 participants from diverse disciplines to collaboratively explore AI and machine learning for performance. Led by Peter Kirn and Anna Xambó, participants will work in a group environment to create new ways of playing AI like an instrument, moving beyond simple text prompts to expressive musicianship. The program takes place during Sónar+D 2025 in Barcelona.
What is Offered
Tutelage by Peter Kirn and Anna Xambó, collaborative exploration in a hacklab environment, a short ensemble performance at SonarÀgora, and access to Sónar+D, Sónar by Day, and Sónar by Night.
Requirements
Availability in Barcelona from 11th to 14th June 2025. Open to participants from various backgrounds including AI coders, researchers, electronic musicians, instrumentalists, and singers. No prior expert AI knowledge is strictly required.
