Villa Charities
Villa Charities, in partnership with Borgo Universo and the municipality of Aielli, is offering a residency and commission opportunity for a young Canadian artist to paint a mural in the medieval village of Aielli. The project aims to promote Canadian talent internationally and strengthen cultural ties through vibrant street art. The chosen artist will execute the mural over one week in July 2026.
$1,000 CAD stipend, round-trip economy airfare to Rome, and one week of room and board including materials provided by La Maesa co-op.
Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, aged 18 to 35. Applicants must have previous experience with community-driven public art projects and the ability to complete the mural within one week. AI-generated work is prohibited.
Submit a proposal package via email to execs@villacharities.com with the subject line 'PROPOSAL FOR AIELLI' and your name. Submissions must include ideas and sketches for a mural project highlighting historical links between Italy and Canada. Large files can be shared via Dropbox or WeTransfer.
