Internationales Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival Stuttgart
The 30th International Solo-Tanz-Theater Festival Stuttgart invites emerging choreographers and young dancers to submit original or recently premiered solo dance pieces (9-12 minutes) for a competition held from March 12-15, 2026. The festival aims to showcase the latest developments in solo dance-theater, judging choreography, dramaturgy, dance, musicality, and overall presentation. Participants must be available for all four festival days, including rehearsals, interviews, and recordings. The competition is free to enter, with selection by a curatorium. Selected participants will be accommodated in double rooms, with hotel and travel subsidies covered by the organizer. Award winners are obligated to participate in a "Tour of the Winners" in Germany from November 13-30, 2026, for which a global fee, travel, hotel, and catering expenses will be paid.
Money prizes totaling €16,000, residence prizes, hotel accommodation (double rooms), travel expense subsidy, and a global fee with covered travel, hotel, and catering for the "Tour of the Winners" performances.
Choreographers and dancers (dancer must be 30 or younger). Solo piece must be a premiere or not older than one year by March 2026. Performance duration between 9 and 12 minutes. Choreographies should use a contemporary and genuine movement language. Only easily transportable props conforming to B1 standard (low flammability) are permitted. Materials that soil the stage or pose accident risks are not allowed.
Online application must be submitted by November 11, 2025, 24:00 CET, including an online link (YouTube or Vimeo) to the choreographic work (work-in-progress is acceptable). If using Vimeo, the download function must be enabled. Applications must be in German or English.
