Jentel Artist Residency
The Jentel Artist Residency provides dedicated space and time for artists, writers, and composers who are serious about their intent and have developed a personal vision or voice. The program is open to visual artists in all media, writers in fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry, and composers in all genres of music. Each resident receives private living accommodations, a shared common living area with kitchen, and a separate studio space. The residency also includes a weekly stipend to help offset living and meal preparation expenses. Applicants must be over 25 years of age and residents of the United States; U.S. citizenship is not required. Full-time students are ineligible, but post-doc fellows are welcome. A streamlined application process is available for Wyoming residents. All applications are reviewed by visual art, literary, and music professionals. The residency is located 20 miles southeast of Sheridan, Wyoming, in the Bighorn Mountains. Residents are required to bring their own materials and laptops. Pets and accommodations for children/family members are not permitted on-site, though visitor accommodation is available in Sheridan.
The residency provides private living accommodations, a shared common living area with kitchen, a separate studio space, and a $300 weekly stipend distributed in increments.
Applicants must be over 25 years of age and a resident of the United States (US citizenship not required). Applicants currently enrolled full-time (9 hours or more) in a degree program are ineligible. Post-doc fellows are welcome to apply. Wyoming residents have access to a streamlined application process. Residents must bring their own materials and laptops. Pets are not allowed, and accommodations for children and family members are not provided.
