About the Open Call

Shape Arts partners with The Literary Consultancy to provide professional feedback for low-income writers. The service covers fiction, non-fiction, short stories, picture books, poetry, scripts, and screenplays. Selected writers receive written feedback and 6 months access to the 'Being A Writer' portal. Additional support options like Editor 1-1s and submission package reports are also available.

What is Offered

Professional feedback, access to the 'Being A Writer' portal for 6 months, and optional support packages.

Requirements

Must be a writer actively engaged in practice, self-identify as disabled, be on a low income, resident of England, over 16, not currently enrolled in a creative writing programme, not have received a free read last year, and the work must be original and single-authored.
