SAB MAG positions itself as a broader creative ecosystem that combines publishing, exhibitions, digital media, and artist-led programming. Alongside its print magazine featuring artist interviews, visual art, and writing, the platform also supports online features, exhibitions linked to print releases, podcasts, video interviews, live music showcases, and future academic review projects. The open call welcomes emerging and established creatives working across a wide range of visual and literary forms. Film and audio works are also accepted, although they can only be featured online. The magazine emphasises original, artist-driven work and does not permit AI-generated content.

Requirements

Visual art submissions may include painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic design, multimedia work, photography, fashion, film, and audio projects. Artists may submit multiple works, with one submission form required per piece or series. Writing submissions may include poetry, short stories, memoir, creative nonfiction, op-eds, essays, and experimental writing. Formatting requirements vary depending on genre, including AP style for op-eds and APA style for academic essays. Submissions must be uploaded as .docx or PDF files for writing, while artwork files must be clear, high quality, and under 10 MB each. Applicants are also asked to provide a short bio, artwork descriptions or statements, and relevant contact information. Discriminatory or hateful content will not be accepted.
