Art at the Cathedral: Call for Local Submissions

About the Open Call

In 2027, Southwark Cathedral will dedicate its Café exhibition programme to the work of local artists. We are inviting artists with a strong connection to the Diocese of Southwark to submit proposals. We are open to a wide range of two-dimensional artistic practices including painting, drawing, prints, and photography. The exhibition programme will run throughout 2027 with each exhibition lasting approximately six weeks. There is no fee to exhibit, and the Cathedral can facilitate the sale of exhibited works for a small commission.

What is Offered

Six-week exhibition space in the Southwark Cathedral Café with the opportunity for art sales.

Requirements

Artists must have a strong connection to the Diocese of Southwark (South London and East Surrey). Artwork must be suitable for wall hanging and fit within specific wall dimensions provided in the call. No large-scale works or freestanding sculptures.
