Art Hub Copenhagen
Applications for the Art Hub Residency are now open for both spring and fall 2026. In 2026, selected artists will be granted a studio and access to workshop facilities at Thoravej 29, where AHC's office is also located. AHC values diversity highly and encourages everyone regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexuality and identity to apply. The Art Hub Residency is for both newly qualified and other artists, where the residency program can make a difference in relation to spreading and establishing a practice on a national and international level. The residency runs for five months (spring: February to June 2026; autumn: September 2026 to January 2027). AHC is a network-creating institution that works actively to create and expand visual artists' networks both nationally and internationally. With a focus on networking, dissemination, immersion and production, the Art Hub Residency offers a studio, access to workshop facilities, a monthly fee and a sparring and development program based on the individual artist's needs. Part of the program consists of meetings with selected curators/mentors as well as a visit program to several art institutions in Denmark. The artist has access to workshop facilities at Thoravej 29, but there is no requirement to produce work during the stay. The time can thus be organized for research, studies, testing of ideas or actual production. The program includes a requirement that you, as a resident, participate in a public presentation, which can take many forms: a talk, a podcast, a video, a text, a display, a performance or something else entirely. It is expected that residents organize their residency period so that their working hours are primarily spent at Thoravej 29. Contents of the program include a studio at Thoravej 29 with 24/7 access (13-35 sqm), access to Thoravej 29's five workshops 24/7, a fee of DKK 21,000 incl. VAT per month, tailored meetings with relevant mentors and curators, ongoing professional sparring and feedback with curator Marie Braad Larsen, and conducting a public presentation and dissemination of practice on AHC's social media. In January 2025, AHC moved to Thoravej 29 in Copenhagen's Northwest quarter, offering 14 studios and five workshops, an exhibition venue, and a large stage for public events. The building has been designed to accommodate people with disabilities with level-free access and wheelchair-friendly facilities.

Applicants must be visual artists who are citizens of an EU/EØS country, have a permanent residence permit, or are otherwise entitled to stay in Denmark for a continuous period of five months. Professional visual artists, including those educated from the Jutland Academy of Arts, the Funen Academy of Arts, the Royal Danish Academy of Arts, or with a similar professional visual arts education or background, can apply. Duos are also eligible. Residents are expected to spend their daily working life at Thoravej 29, plan and execute a public presentation of their work, participate in monthly meetings with Marie Braad Larsen, and participate in a visiting program with selected art institutions and other residents' outreach activities.
