Kala Art Institute
The AIR program provides artists with 24/7 access to a shared 8,000-square-foot Print Studio, a Sculpture and Textile Lab, a Digital Lab, and a black and white photo darkroom. The selection panel considers skills in the proposed project area, artistic strength, and conceptual rigor. Residents are encouraged to be familiar with at least one of the media offered. Options range from 2 weeks to 3 months, with housing available for artists residing outside the Bay Area.
Access to studio facilities (Print, Sculpture, Textile, Digital, Photo), optional housing for non-Bay Area residents, networking opportunities, and staff support.
Artists should be familiar with at least one of the media and equipment offered at Kala. Applications are subject to review by the residency staff and management.
Apply via the SlideRoom portal at kala.slideroom.com. A full application requires completed questions, an artist resume/CV, and work samples (up to 5 images/5 minutes of video).
