ARTIST OPEN CALL: DAISY CHAIN

About the Open Call

The selected artist will lead a collaborative creative process with LGBTQIA+ youth aged 15–26, facilitating workshops and co-creating new artworks that respond to themes of gender, visibility, identity, power, and representation. The final outputs will include a short moving image work and a series of 2D collage or mixed-media artworks to be exhibited and screened in the UK and Czechia in 2027. The commission places strong emphasis on socially engaged practice, collaboration, participant autonomy, and dialogue around authorship and representation. Artists will also take part in peer mentoring and knowledge-sharing sessions with the wider DAISY CHAIN cohort.

Requirements

Applicants must: Be based in the South East of England and legally able to work in the UK Be over 18 years old Work with moving image or lens-based media Have a socially engaged and participatory artistic practice Have experience working creatively with children and young people Have safeguarding experience and be willing to obtain or hold a DBS check Have public liability insurance Applicants are required to submit: A cover letter outlining their interest, approach, and relevant experience A CV (maximum 2 pages) Links or up to 15 images of previous relevant work Information about DBS status The selected artist will receive a £4,200 fee plus travel expenses and production support.
