Artist & Researcher in Residence Guiniguada offers exceptional residency opportunities for artists and researchers seeking a bold vast space for musing, far away from heavy civilization and buzzing crowds, yet still within easy reach, located in an unconquerable castle in Gran Canaria, known for one of the world's best climates. The program focuses on enhancing creativity by breaking routines and expanding comprehension through a hybrid form of staying, mixing artists with academic researchers. It's a rural setting, embracing nature and its sounds, for those who prefer adventure over consumer comfort. The residency periods for 2025/2026 include: Summer Retreat (21 July - 18 August 2025, Deadline: Ongoing), Autumn Retreat (10 September - 5 November 2025, Deadline: 1 August 2025), Winter Retreat (20 November 2025 - 15 January 2026, Deadline: 14 August 2025), and Early bird call for February Retreat (30 January - 27 February 2026, Deadline: 9 August 2024). Early bird applicants for February 2026 can receive a 7% grant of the fee if approved. Minimum stays vary from 2 to 4 weeks, with options for longer periods up to 8 weeks.
Access to an exceptional resident community, a vast space for musing, a rural setting close to nature, opportunities to enhance creativity, mix with academic researchers, and engage in thinking, working, relaxing, and discussions. A 7% grant of the fee is offered for approved early bird applications.
