Artist & Researcher in Residence Guiniguada
The Artist & Researcher in Residence Guiniguada offers an exceptional opportunity for artists and researchers to reside in a guest community or find solitude in a bold, vast space. This unconquerable castle in a fairy-tale landscape on Gran Canaria, Spain, boasts one of the world's best climates, offering a setting far from heavy civilization and buzzing crowds, yet still within easy reach. The residency emphasizes getting closer to nature and adventure, embracing a rural environment with its inherent sounds and rhythms. The program's core idea is to enhance creativity by providing a break from routines, expanding the traditional artist-in-residency model to include academic researchers. This heterogeneity is believed to broaden participants' comprehensions of their worlds. The goal is to host individuals ready to leave home routines behind and spend time thinking, working, relaxing, and discussing within the community. Various retreat periods are offered throughout the academic year, with a minimum stay of two weeks.
A residency opportunity providing a bold vast space for musing, working, relaxing, and discussing in a rural, natural setting. Focus on enhancing creativity and broadening comprehension through a hybrid artist-researcher community.
