Artists at Risk (AR) / Ecologists at Risk (ER) Open Call

About the Open Call

AR/ER-Residencies enable practitioners to take a 'breather' from their home country or use the programme as a 'stepping stone' to re-orient their professional lives. The call is open to artists and other art-practitioners at risk of grievous suppression of freedom of expression, persecution, or politically motivated threats. Ecologists at risk with a cultural or artistic aspect to their work (including activists, researchers, journalists, and scientists) are also eligible. Residencies are temporary and not intended as permanent welfare or economic migration solutions.

What is Offered

Accommodation, monthly living grant, travel, visa, travel insurance, and a limited budget for production and legal costs.

Requirements

Applicants must be at high risk to life and limb, facing sustained persecution, involuntary displacement, unjust imprisonment, torture, or death threats. Economic hardship alone is not sufficient for eligibility.

How to Apply

Applicants must use the specific Google Form based on their origin: Afghan Application Form, Ukraine Application Form, or Global Application Form (for all other regions). Ecologists at risk use a separate dedicated form. A Google email account is required for secure transmission of data.
