About the Open Call

Gallery Ring is hosting an international online art contest for 'Artists of the Month', inviting submissions from artists aged 18 or older who can communicate in English or Spanish. The contest seeks two-dimensional work including paintings, drawings, photography, digital art, mixed-media, print work, and collage. Three-dimensional work, video, and AI work (unless minimally employed) are ineligible. There is no specific theme; originality, mastery of medium, strong overall design, composition, and a solid, arresting impression are key criteria. Submissions must be high-quality JPG images (max 2MB), tightly cropped, and properly labeled. An optional artist statement (max 150 words) can be submitted. Four artists will be selected each month, receiving distinctions such as DIAMOND, RUBY, SAPPHIRE, EMERALD, or CRYSTAL Artist of the Month. Awards include artwork features on Gallery Ring's website homepage and dedicated 'Artists of the Month' pages, digital award certificates and pages, promotion on Instagram and newsletters, features on the YouTube channel, and automatic entry into the 'ARTIST OF THE YEAR' event. Artwork does not need to be for sale; Gallery Ring does not handle sales or take commission but will direct inquiries to artists. All submitted artwork must be original and not offensive. Winners will be notified, and non-selected artworks may be reconsidered for future contests. Artists retain all copyrights.

Requirements

Artists must be 18 years or older and able to communicate in English or Spanish. Two-dimensional work (paintings, drawings, photography, digital, mixed-media, print work, collage) is eligible. Images must be 1 artwork/frontal viewpoint per image, max 2MB, JPG format, labeled 'LAST NAME - Title of Art.jpg', cropped tightly, clear, without glare, and in focus. All artwork must be original. Offensive or negative work is unacceptable.

How to Apply

Artists must submit their artwork through the online entry form on the Gallery Ring website. After sending the submission form, artists must proceed with payment.
