Studio KIND CIC
The project 'Back To The Market' investigates three key heritage areas: the 1934 speech by Oswald Mosley and refugee history, Jeremy Thorpe’s 1968 wedding reception and LGBTQ+ heritage, and the social histories linked to John Gay’s 'The Beggar’s Opera'. Artists will conduct research and produce work for an exhibition in November 2026, alongside digital outputs such as podcasts, videos, or digital zines.
Commission fees range from £1,500 to £2,000 depending on the project. Additionally, artists receive £250 per workshop or talk plus travel expenses. Shortlisted applicants receive travel contributions for interviews.
Artists should demonstrate an interest in heritage-based research. The call favors artists from the South West of England due to regional links and environmental considerations, though it is not exclusive. Selected artists are expected to participate in an interview on May 1st, 2026.
