BFI Doc Society
Made of Truth is part of BFI NETWORK and uses National Lottery funds to support non-fiction live action or animation short films. The fund supports emerging filmmakers in creating bold non-fiction stories that respond to a changing world. Funding can cover up to 13 short documentaries each year.
Grants of up to £25,000 per project for up to 13 individual short documentaries per year.
Applicants must be early-career filmmakers and UK residents. Directors cannot have received a commercial distribution deal in the last five years for a non-fiction feature. Teams must consist of at least two people (producer and director) if possible, though directors may apply solo with support to find a producer provided if successful.
