Bethnal Green Nature Reserve
Bethnal Green Nature Reserve (BGNR) is seeking proposals for large-scale billboard artworks that engage the public in conversations around climate change and climate adaptation. The 2026 billboard programme aims to make climate issues feel tangible, relational, and relevant to everyday life through creative, poetic, or speculative responses. Selected works will be displayed for three-month periods throughout 2026 and early 2027. BGNR provides technical support with printing and installation, as well as public liability insurance and promotional coverage.
£600 artist fee plus a £400 production budget (£350 printing and £50 installation labour).
Open to artists, designers, writers, poets, and illustrators. Proposals must clearly and creatively engage with the theme of climate change and/or climate adaptation. Final artworks must adhere to technical specifications for a 48-sheet billboard (6096 x 3048 mm) and be supplied as high-resolution PDFs.
Email a single compressed PDF to info@bethnalgreennaturereserve.org including: a visual proposal (sketch or mock-up), a written description of the concept (max 250 words), an artist bio (max 250 words), and up to five examples of past work.
