BLOOM Open Call for BIPOC Artists

About the Open Call

BLOOM aims to bring awareness to Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence (DV/IPV) and act as an intervention to educate the community. Artists are asked to capture the essence of DV/IPV through the themes of sun, seed, and soil, creating space for celebration of sisterhood, sovereign healing, resilience, and transformation. Artwork must be family-friendly. Preference given to those with lived experience of DV/IPV.

What is Offered

Exhibition on Governors Island, curatorial guidance, professional photographic and audiovisual documentation, promotion, and press outreach.

Requirements

Artists must be 18+ and based in the NYC area. Must be available to be present on October 17, 2026, for the activation date. Artwork must remain available during the exhibition period (Oct 1 - Oct 30, 2026).

How to Apply

Submit the online Google Form application including contact info, portfolio/JPG link, artist background/intent statement, and a receipt number from the required $30 administrative fee payment link.
