About the Open Call

Build Up is a charity that runs practical construction projects across London. They support young people to design and build public and community spaces such as climbing walls, hangout spaces, and community gardens. For 2026, they are opening applications for new project partnerships. The program involves a collaborative process where Build Up works with partners to set up projects, jointly apply for funding, and center young people in the design and construction phases. This is not a direct grant but a partnership where expertise and staff time are contributed to realize a physical build.

What is Offered

Build Up contributes the equivalent of £6–10k in staff time (architects and construction workers) for project development and specialized expertise in fundraising and design.

Requirements

Applicants must be London-based organizations or youth groups with long-term access to a site. Must be committed to youth-led decision making for young people aged 12+ and focus on meeting the needs of those facing structural inequalities.

How to Apply

Apply by filling out the short online application form available on the Build Up website by Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Shortlisted applicants will be visited in April 2026.
