About the Open Call

In cooperation with the Hessian state capital, Nassauischer Kunstverein Wiesbaden has been awarding the scholarship “Follow Fluxus: After Fluxus” annually since 2008. With seventeen artists already supported, the aim of the scholarship is to promote international creators whose work connects with the trans national, multicultural and interdisciplinary art movement Fluxus. The legendary event series “Fluxus Internationale Festspiele Neuester Musik” laid a central cornerstone in 1962 in Wiesbaden for the still ongoing international reception of Fluxus. The scholarship provides the fellow with a grant of €10.000 and includes a three month residency from June to August 2026. During this period the fellow may live and work rent free in the studio house of the Kunsthaus Wiesbaden. A fully equipped living/bedroom with shower/WC as well as a studio (total 70.88 m²) are provided at no cost. Afterwards, an exhibition of the created work will be presented in the Nassauischer Kunstverein Wiesbaden’s exhibition rooms on the third floor. In order to build new networks and strengthen existing contacts, the artist is expected to spend the majority of the residency period in Wiesbaden. With the submitted project proposal, applicants should build on the ideas and practices of the Fluxus movement and make a substantial contribution to its further development and contemporary transformation in the 21st century. Artists are invited to formulate their visions accordingly and to open new perspectives on Fluxus related art practices with creative, innovative approaches.
