Call for Artists: “Art School,” the International Exhibition

About the Open Call

CICA Museum invites artists from around the world to participate in “Art School,” the International Exhibition. We welcome works in photography, 2D digital art, video art, interactive art, painting, sculpture, and installation that explore themes related to art schools around the world, the meaning of teaching and learning art in our time, particularly in the age of AI, and the social, cultural, and geopolitical dynamics, limitations, and accessibility of art education. Categories include: Painting, Drawing, and Print; Sculpture & Installation Art; Photograph & 2D Digital Art; Video & Interactive Art. Installation Guidelines: Photographs and 2D Digital Art: Selected works will be printed in standard sizes (10 × 15 inches or 10 x 10 inches), framed, and installed by curators and assistants. Larger sizes are possible upon request, with potential additional fees. Video and Interactive Art: Projectors and DVD/DIVX players will be provided. Multiple single-channel works will be screened via one projector. Specific requirements for exclusive projector use or multiple projectors/monitors should be included in the submission email and may incur additional fees. Artists are responsible for shipping costs of their works. Painting, Sculpture, and Installation Art: Artists are responsible for the shipment and delivery of their physical works to and from CICA Museum, including all related expenses. Two-dimensional works should not exceed 39 inches (1 m) on the longest side. Installation pieces must be no larger than 39 × 39 × 79 inches (1 × 1 × 2 m, width × length × height). Wall-mounted works must not exceed 10 kg in weight. Works exceeding these limits may be considered if mentioned in the submission email.

What is Offered

Opportunity to exhibit selected artworks at CICA Museum from May 6 – 24, 2026. Installation support by museum curators and assistants is provided for photographs, 2D digital art, video, and interactive art.

Requirements

The call is open to artists from around the world. Submissions should include up to 3 video links and/or up to 5 JPG images (100-500KB recommended), and an artist's bio. Physical works (painting, sculpture, installation) have size limits: 2D works not exceeding 39 inches (1m) on the longest side; installation pieces no larger than 39 × 39 × 79 inches (1 × 1 × 2 m); wall-mounted works up to 10 kg. Artists are responsible for shipping costs of physical works. A show processing & maintenance fee of $75 (USD) per work applies if selected.

How to Apply

Applicants should send up to 3 direct links to video works and/or up to 5 JPG images (100-500KB recommended), along with their bio, to “submission@cicamuseum.com.” The email subject line must be formatted as “Submission: Art School – Category – Artist’s Name”.
