Call for Artists: Portrait 2026

About the Open Call

CICA Museum invites artists from around the world to participate in _Portrait 2026_ , the 10th International Exhibition on Portrait. Since its inception in 2017, the annual _Portrait_ exhibition has served as a platform for examining the evolving language of portraiture. The exhibition presents works across a broad spectrum of media including photography, printmaking, painting, video, sculpture, and installation, ranging from abstraction to realism and from traditional practices to experimental approaches.Categories include Photographs & 2D Digital Art, Video & Interactive Art, and Painting, Sculpture & Installation Art.For installation: Photographs & 2D Digital Art will be printed on A3 foam poster board by curators, with options for different sizes and artist-supplied framing for special processes. For Video & Interactive Art, projectors and DVD/DIVX players will be provided; special requirements for exclusive projection or multiple devices may incur additional fees. For Painting, Sculpture & Installation Art, artists are responsible for shipment and related expenses. Recommended dimensions are no larger than 39 inches (1 meter) on the longest side for 2D pieces, and within 39x39x79 inches (1 x 1 x 2 meters) for installation artwork. Wall-mounted pieces should not exceed 10 kg.

Requirements

Artists from around the world. Works accepted across various media including photography, printmaking, painting, video, sculpture, and installation. Specific size and weight limitations for physical works: 2D pieces no larger than 39 inches (1 meter) on the longest side, installation artwork within 39x39x79 inches (1 x 1 x 2 meters), and wall-mounted pieces not exceeding 10 kg. Artists are responsible for shipping costs of physical works.
