Call to Curators for FaB Festival 2026

About the Open Call

FaB is offering aspiring Curators the opportunity to devise and organise a show as part of the Fringe Arts Bath Festival programme, running 22 May to 6 June 2026. We invite fresh and challenging concepts; FaB is a test-bed for new ideas, a platform for Curators and Artists to show experimental work beyond the gallery walls. Anyone can propose a project, exhibition, performance or event, “You don’t have to have ‘Curator’ written on your business card to apply”. All backgrounds and levels of experience (or none) are welcome. FaB will support you with reaching artists, promotion, space - both online and physical, logistics and more. FaB Curators' shows can include: Performance, intervention, installation, multi-media and video work, photography, drawing, painting, sculpture and all disciplines in between. Curating a show for FaB is a great chance to gain experience in this competitive field, to realise your own exhibition or event, to make new contacts and network. In past years FaB has initiated exchanges between artists and curators from London, Brighton, Manchester, Swansea, Oxford, Bath, India, Hungary, Poland, Canada and beyond. FaB will offer you admin support, practical advice through regular meetings, mentoring from past Curators, exhibition space, advertising and more. You’ll need to promote your own call-out and exhibition, write some blog updates and post on social media, we’ll support you with this too.

What is Offered

Curating a show for FaB is a chance to gain experience, realise your own exhibition or event, and make new contacts and network.

Requirements

Applicants do not need to have 'Curator' written on their business card; all backgrounds and levels of experience (or none) are welcome. Selected curators will need to promote their own call-out and exhibition, write some blog updates, and post on social media (with support from FaB).

How to Apply

Submit a proposal of approx. 500 words detailing the underpinning themes with supporting images and your CV. You can submit as a PDF, a Powerpoint, a video, an audio file, or by post.
