About the Open Call

The Danish Arts Foundation's Committee for Craft and Design Project Funding provides grants for projects focusing on Danish craft and design, both within Denmark and internationally. The program aims to promote artistic quality in the field. Eligible projects include exhibitions, dissemination initiatives, residencies, production of new works, and the development of new craft and design products or editorial content. The committee encourages established venues to pay fees to artists and designers for their work. Funding cannot be received for activities completed before the deadline, courses of study, previously supported projects, capital investments, or operating expenses. Applications are evaluated based on artistic quality, professionalism, coherence, and significance. Applicants are encouraged to incorporate green sustainability. Successful applicants will receive a reply no later than 12 weeks after the deadline.

What is Offered

Grants for projects to promote artistic quality within craft and design. Remuneration for craftspeople and designers is encouraged, and funding for both guest and host may be applied for during residencies. Grants can be up to DKK 100,000 paid close to the start date, or in instalments for amounts over DKK 100,000 for projects longer than six months.

Requirements

Applicants include artists, designers, curators, authors, promoters, museums, galleries, and others with an interest in developing and promoting craft and design in Denmark and abroad. Projects must have an intention, time limitation, and target group, and demonstrate artistic quality, professionalism, coherence, and significance. Applications must include mandatory project description and budget templates, relevant images, and brief CVs.

How to Apply

You submit the application via the Grant Portal, which you can find here (https://portal.slks.dk/Dashboard/Login/?returnUrl=/Dashboard/). Complete the mandatory project description and budget template, attach images, and a brief CV. Foreign applicants must order a login. The total size of attached files may not exceed 25 MB. Only PDF and Word formats are accepted. Attachments received after the deadline will not be considered. You must ensure that a Danish NemKonto bank account is related to your civil registration (CPR) or company registration (CVR) number. If residing outside Denmark, a foreign account may be used with a bank information form.
