CreArt Valladolid
CreArt Valladolid opens a new call to invite an artist from the CreArt Network to present an exhibition project that will be part of the 13th edition CreaVA 26, to be held between April 24 and May 30. CreaVA emerged 13 years ago as a platform to promote the works of young artists from Valladolid. Different exhibition proposals of painting, installation, photography, video, illustration, mural are presented every year in the most diverse spaces throughout the city, such as shops, bars, creative incubators, cinemas, schools, public spaces, etc., turning the urban landscape into the best showcase to present the variety and quality of production and the local cultural fabric. Every edition counts on the participation of around 20 artists and exhibition spaces along the city, and guided tours are organized for the Opening. The CreaVA festival is coordinated within the frame of open events for the celebration of the EU Month of Creativity in May across the CreArt Network and has the support of the European Commission through Creative Europe. Fee of 500 € for the participation in the exhibition. Travel costs and accommodation to install the exhibition and be present in the Opening (from 20 to 26 April). Production costs. The works will be print and framed in Valladolid. After the exhibition, the works will be shipped without frame.
Can participant in this call: Artists under 40, born or currently living in any of the cities that participate in ‘CreArt. Network of Cities for Artistic Creation’: Kaunas (Lithuania), Liepaja (Latvia), Skopje (Northern Macedonia), Aveiro (Portugal), Lublin (Poland), Venice (Italy), Rouen and Clermont-Ferrand (France), Ceske Budejovice (Czech Republic), Oulu (Finland), Regensburg (Germany). Members of Croatian Asociation of Visual Artists (HDLU). And Ukrainian artists thanks to cooperation with the Lviv Art Council ‘Dialog’. Artists working in the field of illustration, photography or new media.
Artists should register first and then upload their portfolio via the online application form available on the CreArt website. Required documentation in a single PDF document includes: scanned copy of ID or passport, a short version of the curriculum vitae (maximum A4), and a project exhibition proposal including presentation text and the works that would be presented. Only applications with complete information will be accepted. Submissions must be made by 18th January 23:59h, 2025. CreArt Coordinator and curatorial CreaVA committee in Valladolid will inform all participants by email around 23th January. Participation implies acceptance of these rules and commitment to mention ‘CreArt. Network of Cities for Artistic Creation’ and Festival CreaVA in future communications.
