About the Open Call

CreArt Kaunas and Kaunas Artists' House invite artists to create land/environmental art installations in public spaces along the river Nemunas. The artworks must be made of natural, biodegradable materials and integrate harmoniously into the local landscape. The projects will be presented during the festival 'Let's Celebrate the River!', part of the CreArt 3.0 European Month of Creativity. The aim is to highlight the riverbank's unique geographical and cultural context through artistic intervention. Selected artists will participate in a two-week residency to implement their work.

What is Offered

€900 artist fee (including taxes), travel expenses up to €400, accommodation in Kaunas for up to 14 days, a materials budget up to €400, technical equipment/volunteer support, professional documentation, and extensive promotion.

Requirements

Open to artists born or living in CreArt 3.0 network cities: Kaunas (LT), Liepaja (LV), Skopje (MK), Aveiro (PT), Valladolid (ES), Venice (IT), Clermont-Ferrand (FR), Rouen (FR), Ceske Budejovice (CZ), Lublin (PL), Oulu (FI), Regensburg (DE), as well as members of HDLU and Ukrainian artists from Lviv. Artworks must be made of natural, biodegradable materials and must not be attached to living trees.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted through the CreArt platform at https://creart2-eu.org/login. Submission requirements include a resume/CV, portfolio of work samples, a brief description of the proposed project (max 2 pages), a list of materials/technical requirements, and a copy of an ID or passport.
