Museum of Outdoor Arts (MOA)
This year’s theme, 'Soundscapes in Structure,' challenges participants to design a state-of-the-art amphitheater bandshell that merges acoustic excellence with bold visual identity within Marjorie Park. Participants must address unique site conditions, including a wetland retention area, ensuring the structure does not obstruct public sight lines. Designs must prioritize aesthetics, sustainability, accessibility, and feasibility within a project budget of $500,000 USD.
1st place: $10,000; 2nd place: $7,500; 3rd place: $5,000; Honorable Mention: $1,500; Featured on the MOA Competition archive website.
Open to undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in a U.S. university or recent graduates (up to one year post-graduation). Collaborative designs are highly desired. U.S. citizenship is required to claim cash prizes. Entries must include conceptual drawings, narratives, and a physical scale model.
Interested individuals or teams should pre-register by February 1, 2026, and submit their final conceptual design proposals, including drawings, narratives, and a physical scale model, via the MOA submission portal by April 26, 2026.
