Kingsland Shopping Centre
Kingsland Shopping Centre is getting a fresh new look and is calling on Hackney’s residents, workers, and students to help reimagine the centre’s visual identity. The competition seeks bold, fresh, and imaginative designs that capture Dalston’s diverse cultures, creative spirit, history of music, migration, markets, and community, as well as a sense of place, energy, and belonging. The aim is to replace the current dated logo with something new that reflects the dynamic, vibrant soul of the area. The top 30 designs will be exhibited at Kingsland Shopping Centre in September for public voting, and the top 5 will proceed to a final round. This initiative is part of Criterion’s wider vision to transform the centre into a thriving, community-focused destination, including new homes, workspaces, and public spaces, and offering cultural opportunities like the UK’s first Music Booth. The competition seeks to embed culture, accessibility, and opportunity at the heart of Dalston’s story.
The winner will receive £2,000, and four finalists will each receive £500.
Anyone who lives, works, or studies in Hackney. Entrants must read the official competition pack and submit an entry form with their design.
