Maryland Federation of Art (MFA)
The Digital Explorations exhibition, presented by the Maryland Federation of Art (MFA), celebrates the expanded possibilities in art production through computer software and technology. Artists are encouraged to submit works that weave together scenes in Photoshop, produce paintings through a screen, create videos, animations, projections, or sculpt with a 3D printer. This 4th annual exhibition is open to artists residing in any state or territory of the US, Canada, or Mexico. Any original 2D or 3D image-based work created and/or produced through digital software and adhering to exhibition guidelines will be considered, including digitally produced photography, digital painting, illustration, graphic design, digital video, and projection. Works selected will be exhibited in MFA’s Circle Gallery from January 28 – February 28, 2026. Exhibition co-chairs are Emil Petruncio and Erica Krieger. The juror for this year’s exhibition is Andy Holtin, Professor of Extended Media at American University, known for his work using technological systems to create performative objects and interactive installations. Awards designated by the juror total $1,000. Artists will retain 70% from sales (75% for MFA Members) on any work sold through MFA, with MFA retaining a 30% commission (25% for MFA Members). Work must be for sale, though Price on Request (POR) is an option. The exhibition schedule includes online entry opening on September 23, an entry deadline of November 26, 2025, notification on December 17, 2025, and accepted/shipped work arriving January 23-25, 2026. The exhibition opens January 28, 2026, with a Virtual Awards Ceremony on February 1, 2026, from 4-5 PM via Zoom. The last day of the exhibition is February 28, 2026, with an in-person reception at MFA Circle Gallery from 4-6 PM. Pick up for hand-delivered work is March 1-2, 2026, and shipped work will be sent by March 8, 2026. All entrants will receive notification by email.
