Live Art Development Agency (LADA)
Sym Stellium hosts workshops over three days exploring site-specific, intuitive and ritual-based performance practice. The sessions involve meditation, automatic writing, site visits (Birmingham Gun Barrel Proof House), and collective ritual performance. The project aims to aid in disentangling from colonial thought and performance practices. Four of the six places are ringfenced for practitioners based in Birmingham or the wider West Midlands.
Workshops, presence of a therapist, small access budget for individual therapy or aftercare, and group taxi travel if needed.
Artists and practitioners interested in meditative practices and critical thinking around British colonialism. Participants will spend prolonged time outdoors. Note: Birmingham Proof House is not step-free.
