About the Open Call

Manifest Gallery presents 'ECHO,' an international open call for works exploring repetition or duplication as a formal or conceptual theme. This exhibition is part of Manifest Gallery's 22nd Season in Cincinnati, Ohio, and will be on view from January 23 to February 20, 2026. The gallery welcomes all traditional and non-traditional genres and media, with no size restrictions beyond what fits the gallery space and no specific timeframe requirements for when the work must have been created. Submissions undergo a two-part jury process by professional and academic advisors, with final selections made by the exhibit curator from a pool of top-scoring works. Manifest Gallery operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

What is Offered

Every exhibiting artist will receive a $50 cash honorarium. Additionally, $9,000 in Grand Jury Awards will be distributed, with $1,000 awarded to one work during each of the nine exhibition periods of Manifest's 22nd season. Exhibiting artists also have the option to purchase the season annual publication (MEA) at half price.

Requirements

Entries must be original works that address the theme of repetition or duplication. The opportunity is open to all traditional and non-traditional media, with no specific size restrictions other than what can fit in the gallery spaces, and no requirements regarding the artwork's creation date. Submissions require digital image files formatted as JPEGs (minimum 1000 pixels in any direction, 72 dpi), adhering to strict file naming conventions (last name_first name_entry number.jpg). Video or interactive entries must include a link to a publicly viewable online copy and a representative JPEG image. Accepted works must be gallery-ready, professionally presented, and available for exhibition from January 23 to February 20, 2026. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the gallery. Works will be insured while on gallery premises against theft, vandalism, and damage by patrons or staff, but not during transit or due to inherent material/craftsmanship flaws.

How to Apply

Applicants must complete an online entry form. The entry fee of $45 covers up to three entries, with an additional $5 for each extra entry. Fees can be paid via U.S. check mailed to P.O. Box 6218 Cincinnati, OH 45206, or by credit card via PayPal. Digital images (JPEG, min 1000 pixels, 72 dpi) must be uploaded to a dedicated project Dropbox, with specific file naming conventions (last name_first name_entry number). For video or interactive submissions, artists should provide a link to a viewable online copy in addition to a single representative JPEG image.
