About the Open Call

Echoes of Ice approaches Iceland's glaciers not only as melting bodies of ice, but as living archives of history and metaphors for broader environmental, political, and social change. This exhibition is a call to listen, to reflect, and to take part in a global conversation where science and art come together as glaciers and global systems alike face rapid transformation. The works unfold across three themes: reflecting on what was - the landscapes, histories, and cultural ties shaped by glaciers; confronting what is - their retreat amid today's climate crisis; and imagining what could be - possible futures shaped by preservation, adaptation, or renewal.
