About the Open Call

The Creative Caravans pillar of the Ecologies of Culture program focuses on the dissemination and circulation of artistic ideas. It is divided into two sub-pillars: 1) Festivals and Touring Projects, which supports structures like exhibitions and residencies that move across borders; 2) Digital Media Platforms, which supports established and emerging platforms producing critical writing, podcasts, and multimedia content that engage with cultural dimensions of global challenges.

What is Offered

For Festivals and Touring Projects: up to EUR 65,000 for up to 12 projects. For Digital Media Platforms: up to EUR 15,000 for emerging platforms and EUR 25,000 for established ones, plus capacity-building training, mentorship, and peer-to-peer learning.

Requirements

Festivals/Touring: Established organizations with at least two previous events in eligible countries. Digital Media: Independent platforms operating for at least two years (emerging or established). Ineligible candidates include governmental entities and individuals with direct ties to AFAC staff or board members.

Applications are only accepted via the online form available on the AFAC website. Applicants are encouraged to submit 24 hours before the deadline to avoid technical issues. Documentation must be complete; incomplete applications will not be considered.
