About the Open Call

EFFEA supports around 50 residencies bringing together at least 150 festivals to support emerging artists. Residency formats include 'Discovery' (€8,000 grant) and 'Springboard' (€15,000 grant). Projects must involve a leading festival and at least two partner festivals from eligible countries. Projects are open to various disciplines including Architecture, Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Circus, Design, Digital Arts, Film, Folklore, Heritage, Interdisciplinary, Literature, Music, Opera, Street Art, Theatre, Photography/Video, Puppetry, Sculpture and Painting.

What is Offered

Grants of €8,000 or €15,000 for festival-led artist residencies.

Requirements

Partnership must include one leading festival and at least two partner festivals from three eligible countries. Both leading and partner festivals must be registered on FestivalFinder.eu. Artists must have nationality or legal residence in one of the eligible countries.

Applications must be submitted online by the leading festival via the EFFEA portal using the provided templates: Letter of intent with the emerging artist, Letter of intent with the partner festivals, and Budget Template.
