About the Open Call

Zad supports the mobility of artists, individuals, and artistic groups from the Arab region residing in Europe. It provides financial contributions for travel, accommodation, artwork shipment, and translation costs to display artistic works in new spaces across various European countries. The program aims to overcome obstacles to engagement with the European artistic scene and preserve artists' intellectual and critical presence in their new places of residence.

What is Offered

Financial coverage for travel and accommodation, including internal transportation, daily expenses, and insurance; coverage for shipment of artworks and production materials; and costs for translation and simultaneous interpretation.

Requirements

Open to artists from the Arab region (with priority for those from Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Yemen, Sudan, and Libya) who have relocated to Europe since 2015. Requires a formal invitation from an artistic or literary host entity. The work must be presented to a new audience in a city where it has not been previously shown.

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted through the online application portal in either Arabic or English. Applicants are required to provide an official invitation letter from a host artistic or literary organization. Travel must be scheduled for at least two months after the results announcement date.
