About the Open Call

For the 33rd edition taking place 10 - 15 June 2026, Sheffield DocFest welcomes completed documentary films of all lengths from around the world. The festival's programming represents core values of creativity, empathy, freedom, inclusivity, and internationalism. Films are categorized as Short Films (under 40 minutes) or Feature/Mid-length Films (over 40 minutes).

Requirements

Films must be completed documentary works. Length categories: Shorts (under 40 minutes including credits), Feature or Mid-length (over 40 minutes).

How to Apply

Submit your film via the online application forms available on the Sheffield DocFest website. Separate forms exist for Short Films and Feature/Mid-length Films.
