FLOCK Winter Intensive in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany

About the Open Call

Join FLOCK’s second annual intensive in the medieval town of Schwäbisch Hall, Germany, from December 14-19. Designed for an intimate group of artists, this transformative week offers the chance to dive deeply into FLOCK’s unique world of movement, non-gendered partnering, collaboration, and creation. Throughout the intensive, you’ll work closely with Alice and Florian in daily sessions that weave together breathwork, FLOCK warm-ups, creative process/repertoire, discussions, and personalized one-on-one mentorship. Physical therapist Annette Junginger will guide daily specialized PT sessions and lectures focused on holistic health and long-term wellness for dancers. The week culminates in a public showing at the magical Globe Theater in Schwäbisch Hall, where FLOCK is company-in-residence. Outside the studio, you’ll have time to wander the cobbled streets of Schwäbisch Hall, soak in the history of this medieval town, and experience its renowned Christmas Market. Optional dormitory-style housing within walking distance of the studio is available for an additional fee, and limited hotels and Airbnbs can also be found nearby. Tuition is $1000 (does not include lodging, travel, or food) or $1400 (includes housing with breakfast and dinner in double rooms). Travel days are December 13 and 20. Example daily schedule includes PT lecture, breathwork, warm-up with FLOCK, workshops with FLOCK, cooldown and discussion, and individual sign-ups for PT/one-on-ones with FLOCK.

Requirements

The intensive is designed for professional/pre-professional artists. Applicants must submit a CV or artist statement and a video (2 minutes maximum) demonstrating their artistry, movement, extremes, and individuality. The video can be choreography or improvisation; Instagram or highly edited videos are not accepted.
