Futurisms Intensive Writing Residency 2027

About the Open Call
This residency provides writers with dedicated time and space for the creative exploration of the future. The program includes optional consultations and group sessions with mentors Dr. Joshua Whitehead, Sheree Renee Thomas, and Nalo Hopkinson, and professional guest Dr. Jenna Butler. Participants are provided with individual accommodation and private studio space. Cross-disciplinary learning with Indigenous Arts and Visual Arts programs is encouraged.
What is Offered
Includes single bedroom accommodation, private studio space, and access to campus facilities (fitness, library). Scholarship options available.
Requirements
Open to emerging and established writers with a proven publication record. Must be 18+. Projects must be written in English. Applicants must not have taken part in a Banff Centre residency in the last year.
